And the champ is…
On November 20, 2022, the American Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Officials declared some winners hours before the event, including Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny.
This year, the latter artist received the most nominations, eight in all, including Artist of the Year.
However, the “Moscow Mule” artist was not the only one to get several nominations; Taylor, Beyoncé, and Drake each received six nominations for this year’s event. Another triumvirate that found itself bound just behind them? Adele, Harry Styles, and The Weeknd each received five nominations.
Over 40 musicians, including Latto, Jack Harlow, and BLACKPINK, received their first nomination for their work in music in 2022, despite the fact that the AMAs included a large number of nominees for well-established performers.
Notable additions to this year’s list of award categories include Favorite K-Pop Artist, Favorite Afrobeats Artist, Favorite Rock Song, and Favorite Rock Album.
