Artist manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog or Bullgod, has taken dancehall artist Shatta Wale to court over his recent comments about the murder of Fennec Okyere in 2014.
The writ, which was filed on November 7, asks the Court, among other things, to order Shatta Wale to publish a retraction of his “defamatory” words and apologize seven days in a row.
Bulldog also wants his former artist to pay him general, special, and punitive damages “for maliciously publishing false information about the Plaintiff.”
This is because Shatta Wale just posted on Facebook that his former manager told him in 2014 that there was a plan to kill Mr. Okyere.
Since then, the Cold Case Unit of the Ghana Police Service has asked Shatta Wale, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., to come in and talk to them.
Police question Shatta Wale about what he said about the death of Fennec Okyere.
In his writ, Bulldog says that a recent article by Shatta Wale implies that he is “a criminal gangster and a danger to society who shouldn’t be free to walk the streets but instead should be in jail.”
