Sarah Drew claims that after penning her first screenplay, she won’t contribute to Grey’s Anatomy.
With former Grey’s Anatomy cast member Justin Bruening, Sarah Drew made her screenplay debut on November 12 with Reindeer Games Homecoming.
In an interview with Enews, Sarah said that the inspiration for her writing first struck her when she was shooting the 2019 Lifetime feature Twinkle All the Way.
The actress, who played Dr. April Kepner on Grey’s Anatomy from 2009 to 2018, was asked if she would write for the show, but she declined, saying that she is “much more interested in developing something from scratch.”
“At least for the time being, I’m not sure whether I would want to go into a writers’ room of an ongoing program. Just making my own things is a lot of joy for me. So, that’s sort of where I am at the moment “said Drew, 42, in his explanation.
Earlier in 2022, during the season 18 finale, Sarah made a special appearance on the medical drama with Jesse Williams, who portrays her partner Jackson Avery.
The actress said that she may possibly make another appearance on the program.
