In 1988, George Lucas followed his Star Wars trilogy with the legendary fantasy epic Willow.
Now, 34 years later, in a Disney+ series of the same name, franchise lovers may return to the universe Lucas created.
The TV program, which is a direct sequel to the original film, is not being released all at once, so fans may be wondering when they can continue the plot.
When Do New ‘Willow’ Episodes Come Out on Disney+? Full Release Schedule
On Wednesday, November 30, the first two episodes of Willow aired on Disney+, returning fans to the universe.
In the 1988 film, aspiring sorcerer Willow Ulfgood (Warwick Davis) aided in the protection of a child who was prophesied to bring about the destruction of the terrible sorceress Queen Bavmorda of Nockmaar (Jean Marsh).
Willow (Val Kilmer) and the mercenary Madmartigan (Val Kilmer) join forces to safeguard the kid, whose actual name is Elora Danan, the Princess of Tir Asleen, on his journey.
Bavmorda’s daughter Sorsha (Joanne Whalley) attempts to bring them down, but she and Madmartigan fall in love, and the group decides to battle and destroy Bavmorda together.
Willow embarks on a perilous mission to save one of Madmartigan and Sorsha’s twins, their son Prince Airk, in the Disney+ series, which takes place decades after the film (Dempsey Bryk). He is accompanied by six aspiring warriors, including Princess Kit and Airk’s twin sister (Ruby Cruz).

The Disney+ series started with two episodes, but this is the only week in which fans will be able to watch more than one new episode.
As with the majority of Disney+ series, one new episode will be published each week, beginning with the third on Wednesday, December 7; the fourth on Wednesday, December 14; and so on.
Willow has a total of eight episodes, and new episodes will be published every Wednesday until January 11.
In an interview with Variety, the show’s creator, Jonathan Kasdan, said that Willow is “for everyone” who appreciates fantasy.
Kasdan said: “If you had even a passing interest in the genre, you could travel with the characters. I hope that adds some distinction to the show. It is primarily designed to be amusing: eight hours of distraction.”
New episodes of Willow premiere on Disney+ every Wednesday.
