Robert De Niro stunned admirers in May 2023 when he announced he “just had a baby” at age 79. With whom did he have his seventh child?
Although he did not reveal the mother of his child at the time, the actor had a dinner date with a visibly pregnant Tiffany Chen just two months before announcing his pregnancy.
The pair, who met in 2015, began dating in 2021 and have kept their relationship covert since then.
Prior to their relationship, De Niro fathered two children with Diahnne Abbott, Toukie Smith, and Grace Hightower, respectively.
In 1976, the Oscar winner adopted Drena Abbott’s daughter, and she gave birth to Raphael that same year. In 1995, he welcomed twin sons Aaron and Julian with Smith, followed by son Elliot in 1998 and daughter Helen in 2011, both with Hightower.

Her job
In 1994, at the age of 26, martial arts instructor Chen was inducted into Inside Kung-Fu magazine’s Hall of Fame as Competitor of the Year.
“My plan has always been to learn how to be as great as my father,” she said at the time, referring to her father William Chen.
William currently teaches Tai Chi in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City.
How they met
De Niro and Tiffany collaborated on the 2015 film “The Intern,” which starred Anne Hathaway.
Tiffany performed a cameo role as a Tai Chi instructor who worked with Ben, played by Robert De Niro, to practice in an outdoor group.
During production, the “Taxi Driver” icon was married to Hightower. He and the actress separated in 2018 after more than twenty years of marriage.
Their relationship
In August 2021, De Niro and Tiffany were first observed holding hands while on vacation in the south of France.
During the same vacation, the couple was captured kissing on a vessel.
After a dinner date in March 2023, De Niro and Tiffany left Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, with the gold medalist’s baby belly on display in a gray cardigan.

In May 2023, De Niro clarified to an ET Canada reporter who stated that he was the father of six children that he was, in fact, the father of seven.
The next day, he told Page Six at the premiere of “About My Father” that he was not startled by the baby’s birth, asking, “How could you not plan something like that?”
At the same premiere, De Niro’s co-star Kim Catrall extolled about his relationship with “beautiful” and “sweet” Tiffany, recalling her on-set visits, thereby ostensibly confirming Tiffany as the mother.
